Scientific Talk. William G. Kaelin Jr., a journey to the Nobel Prize

Pr. Kaelin will discuss his journey to the Nobel Prize and how his discoveries paved the way for promising new strategies to treat anemia, cancer, and many other diseases.

He will discuss his work on the von Hippel-Lindau Tumor suppressor protein and how both normal and mutated cells respond to low oxygen levels, for which he and his colleagues Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza were awarded the 2019 prize for physiology or medicine.
